Pet-Friendly Music City
When people think of Nashville, Tennessee, they most likely think of all the wonderful music. But there is so much more. There are over 20 colleges and universities in Nashville, including Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities. Music City has a lot to offer visitors including incredible food and beautiful parks. There are 100 stand-alone parks and 7 golf courses. One of the most spectacular attractions is the Parthenon, an exact replica of the Parthenon in Greece, at Centennial Park. There is no lack of things to do and places to bring your pooch. And here, I am listing just a few of my favorites.
Restaurants
You can’t come to Nashville without getting some amazing food. From Nashville hot chicken to BBQ, you will find something for everyone in this town. And luckily for pet-owners, there are a number of places to eat that you can bring your doggo along, too.
Across from Belmont University is a row of restaurants that accommodate your pets. Celebrity chef Arnold Myint owns and operates BLVD Bistro and PM. BLVD is a French restaurant. PM serves sushi as well as burgers and more, so there is something for everyone. Chago’s Cantina is in between the two and offers Mexican food and fun drinks. All three have patios or outdoor seating for you and your pet to enjoy with table service. If you need a latte, Bongo Java is your place, and it also has a patio, but you have to go inside to order.
In the Sylvan Park area, you have BBQ at Edley’s, tacos at Pancho and Lefty’s, and a nice dive bar called Neighbors that welcome your pets on their patios.
Edley’s also has a location at 12 South and Gulch areas. Also in that area are Frothy Monkey, Hops and Crafts, Portland Brew, Peg Leg Porker, Jackalope Brewery, and Party Fowl with patios. Peg Leg Porker has award-winning BBQ, and Party Fowl is my personal pick for hot chicken. Try the deconstructed cobb salad!
In the heart of the 21st Avenue/Hillsboro area, Double Dogs and Fido coffeehouse are super pet-friendly. Double Dogs also has another location on Charlotte. Belcourt Tap is just off of 21st Avenue on Belcourt. At the end of the street is Fannie Mae Dees Park, which locals call “Dragon Park”…a must see in Nashville.
And speaking of Charlotte Avenue, there is also ML Rose for craft beers and burgers. They also have a location on Melrose. Try their waffle fries!
In East Nashville, there is another Bongo Java location. There is also Batter’d and Fried, Drifter’s BBQ, Portland Brew, and Beyond the Edge that all have dog-friendly patios.
And last but not least, there is Tailgate Brewery on Charlotte. They have a large outdoor area with the best of craft beers. This is a great place for a summer hangout.
Parks and Dog Parks
There is no limit of dog parks available to take your pooch in Music City.

And don’t forget the beautiful trails that are pet-friendly like The Trails at Fontanel, Radnor Lake State Park, and the Warner Parks.
Dog Events
And a couple of times a year, the Nashville Sounds baseball team offers Dog Days that allow you to bring your dog to a game along with other promotional specials. I’m sure there would be a deal on hot dogs!
Nashville has several dog-friendly events throughout the year, including “Dog Days” in September put on by the Nashville Humane Association. “Dogs and Dogwoods” happens in April at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. Pooch Pool Party at Nashville Shores is September and benefits A New Leash on Life.
